Actor arrested outside Sudanese embassy in Washington

George Clooney and a number of activist colleagues were led away in handcuffs and arrested earlier today during a protest in front of the Sudanese Embassy in Washington.

Earlier this week, the actor testified before Congress about “a campaign of murder” under way in Sudan, where villagers run for the hills to hide from bombings on a daily basis. Clooney said the attacks were orchestrated by Sudan’s government, led by President Omar al-Bashir, government official Ahmad Harun and Defense Minister Abdelrahim Mohamed Hussein.

The actor has yet to make a comment on todays arrest.
