Hollywood remake/redo eyes new director…

Gavin O’Connor (‘Jane Got A Gun,’ ‘Warrior,’ ‘Pride and Glory’) is in negotiations to take the director’s chair for the English language remake of Guillaume Canet’s French hit ‘Tell No One.’

With ‘Argo’ scribe Chris Terrio providing the screenplay, the thriller is based on the best-selling 2001 novel by Harlan Coben and revolves around David Beck, a doctor who has rebuilt his life after the abduction and murder of his wife by a serial killer eight years ago. But everything changes on the eight anniversary of his her death when two unidentified bodies are found buried in the forest where it is believed she was murdered. Even more disturbing, David receives a mysterious e-mail with a message and an image that leads him to wonder whether his wife may still be alive.

Back in 2011 Ben Affleck signed on to direct and possibly star but the ‘Gone Baby Gone’ helmer exited after scheduling resulted in the remake falling into limbo. Frank Marshall (‘The Bourne Legacy,’ ‘War Horse,’ ‘Back to the Future’) is on board to produce the adaptation.
