Gary Oldman Planning Eadweard Muybridge Biopic FLYING HORSE

Ralph Fiennes and Benedict Cumberbatch may star.

Actor-turned-director Gary Oldman has selected his next directorial vehicle, a biopic of film pioneer and photographer Eadweard Muybridge titled ‘Flying Horse’ reports TheWrap.

Oldman’s ‘Harry Potter’ co-star Ralph Fiennes is lined up to play Muybridge who was famous for pioneering technological advances in photography and motion-capturing imagery. While Benedict Cumberbatch, who co-starred with Oldman in ‘Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy,’ is being eyed to play Major Harry Larkyns, a famous theatre critic whom Muybridge murdered for having an affair with his young wife, Flora.

The trade adds that Oldman may take a small role in the film, playing Dennis Spencer, the district attorney that prosecuted Muybridge.

‘Flying Horse’ will be Oldman’s first time behind the camera since his critically acclaimed directorial debut ‘Nil by Mouth’ starring Ray Winstone.
