The Mother of Dragons joins the sci-fi franchise…

Multiple outlets are reporting that Emilia Clarke, best known for her role as Daenerys Targaryen in ‘Game of Thrones,’ is set to play Sarah Connor in ‘Terminator: Genesis.’

The British actress joins ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ star Jason Clarke, who is being lined up to play her son John Connor, leader of the human resistance in the war against Skynet. Arnold Schwarzenegger is expected to return to the franchise.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, but there are rumours that the film will involve a trip into the future.

Alan Taylor (‘Thor: The Dark World’) is behind the camera for the reboot with the screenplay coming from Laeta Kalorgridis (‘Avatar,’ ‘Shutter Island’) and Patrick Lussier (‘Drive Angry’). Taylor will now turn his focus to casting Kyle Reese, played by Michael Biehn in the original, and Anton Yelchin in 2009’s ‘Terminator Salvation.’

As revealed last week, a new TV series is currently in the works that will tie in with the new film.
