Galifianakis in Talks for Jared Hess-Directed Heist Comedy

Caper would reunite Galifianakis and Owen Wilson…

According to a report over at TheWrap, stand-up comedian and actor Zach Galifianakis (‘The Hangover,’ ‘’) is in final talks to star opposite Owen Wilson in Jared Hess’ untitled heist comedy.

Previously referred to as ‘Loomis Fargo,’ the film is loosely based on true events that occurred in 1997 and follows a disgruntled armoured car driver (Galifianakis) who teams up with a co-worker and a group of inexperienced criminals to steal nearly $20 million from a bank vault. Jim Carrey was long-attached to star but was forced to drop out due to a scheduling conflict.

The untitled film would reunite Galifianakis and Wilson, who recently worked together on ‘Mad Men’ creator Matthew Weiner’s comedy ‘You Are Here.’

Production is expected to commence next summer in North Carolina with Hess directing from a screenplay by Chris Bowman and Hubbel Palmer, based on an original screenplay by Emily Spivey (‘Up All Night’).
