Gal Gadot Set for Historical Thriller IRENA SENDLER October 14, 2019 It has been announced that ‘Wonder Woman’ star Gal Gadot, along with her husband and producing partner Jaron Varsano, has formed the production company Pilot Wave with the company’s first project set to be the fact-based historical thriller ‘Irena Sendler.’ Per Deadline, Gadot will take the lead in the film, playing Polish social worker Sendler, who defiantly stood against Nazi Germany’s occupation of Poland. The film will also tell of the incredible network Sendler developed to care for and save 2500 Jewish children from the Warsaw ghetto. Following her arrest by the Gestapo during the height of the war, the drama becomes a race against time to save not only herself but the identities of the hidden thousands who’ll face certain execution. “As producers, we want to help bring stories that have inspired us to life,” Gadot and Varsano said in a statement. “Pilot Wave will create content that promotes the perspectives and experiences of unique people and produce impactful stories aimed at igniting the imagination.” Justine Juel Gillmer is on board to shape the script for the film.
