Fruit Chan Plans THE MIDNIGHT AFTER

Indie helmer set for ensemble thriller.

Chinese director Fruit Chan (‘Don’t Look Up,’ ‘Dumplings’) is teaming with Golden Scene and One Ninety Films Company for the Hong Kong-set sci-fi thriller ‘The Midnight After,’ according to Screen Daily.

The film, set to shoot in June, is based on the best-selling novel ‘Lost On A Minibus From Mongkok To Tai Po,’ the story follows a group of passengers on a minibus who emerge from a tunnel to discover that every single person has disappeared from Hong Kong. Then the remaining passengers start to go missing one by one.

Wong You Nam (‘Hollywood Hong Kong’), Chui Tien You (‘Little Cheung’) and Sam Lee (‘Made In Hong Kong’), Simon Yam (‘IP Man’), Lam Suet (‘Kung Fu Hustle’), model/actress Janice Man, Kara Hui (‘Dragon’) and Vincci Cheuk are attached to star.
