Frank Marshall Set for THE LONGEST NIGHT

Filmmaker returns to directing…

Veteran director/producer Frank Marshall (‘Congo,’ ‘Alive,’ ‘ Arachnophobia ‘) is stepping behind the camera to direct the shipwreck drama ‘The Longest Night.’

Based on a 2008 GQ article by Sean Flynn, the story chronicles the true-life Coast Guard rescue of the Alaska Ranger, a fishing factory ship which sank in frigid, 6,000-foot-deep waters Easter Sunday, 2008. By the end of the operation, 42 of the 47-person crew had been located and rescued.

The screenplay was adapted by Jonathan Lemkin (‘Lethal Weapon 4’).

Dawn Ostroff and Jeremy Steckler of Conde Nast Entertainment are producing the drama alongside Marshall’s Kennedy/Marshall banner.
