Five Reasons to Love Seth Rogen

As The Green Hornet hits cinemas, Movies.ie celebrates all things Seth Rogen

He’s such A FREAK

The classic, albeit shorted-live TV series is where Rogen first met Judd Apatow. Perhaps more of a supporting,  Rogen played the deadpan freak Ken Miller, best summed up by the classic , serial-killer-esque stare during the school picture-taking opening credits. A star was born.

He’ll make A PORN

Not afraid to get his hands wet – pun most certainly intended, Rogen took a break from Camp Apatow to work with Kevin Smith for Zack and Miri Make a Porno. Rogen starred opposite Elizabeth Banks as a pair of longtime friends who turn to porn as a way of paying their bills. It’s not quite Chasing Amy, but Rogen and Banks will keep you entertained!

He’ll KNOCK UP Katherine Heigl

In Knocked Up, Rogen made not only his big break as a leading man but he even got to knock up Grey’s Anatomy star Katherine Heigl. Rogen stars as the loveable slacker Ben Stone, whose life changes irrevocably when he discovers he is about to become a father after an evening of drunken revelry with Heigl’s character, Alison Scott, a career-driven woman and his polar opposite. Part raunchy, part romance, Knocked Up is one of his finest comedies.

He’s SUPERBAD

Not only did Rogen co-write and produce Superbad, but he also delivered the hilarious loony cop Officer Michaels in the film. Together with Bill Hader as Officer Slater and Christopher Mintz-Plasse as McLovin, Rogen spiced up the B-storyline of the film and occasionally stole the show.

He’s a hilarious MANTIS!

Just one of a bevy of huge stars that lent their voices to Kung Fu Pand, including Jack Black, Dustin Hoffman, Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan and Ian McShane, Rogen is hilarious the role of Mantis. A movie for both kids and adults – we await the sequel!
