Oscar-winning British filmmaker Andrea Arnold (‘Wuthering Heights,’ ‘Fish Tank,’ ‘Red Road’) is to take the helm of ‘American Honey.’

Penned by Arnold, the film is a love story about a fiery teenage girl who runs away with a bunch of troubled door-to-door sales kids, and finds herself on a wild adventure across America.

The film, which kicks of principal photography in July, will be Arnold’s first to shoot outside of the U.K.

Parts & Labor’s Lars Knudsen and Jay Van Hoy (‘Beginners,’ ‘Love Is Strange’) and Thomas Benski and Lucas Ochoa of Pulse Films are on board to produce, alongside Pouya Shahbazian of Man Down Pictures.

Film4 developed the film with Arnold and is also backing it.
