Fincher Circling Sorkin-Penned Steve Jobs Biopic

Filmmaker may direct untitled film…

Multiple outlets are reporting that David Fincher is being courted by Sony Pictures to take the helm of the studio’s untitled biopic of late Apple co-founder and Pixar CEO Steve Jobs.

The film, based on Walter Isaacson authorized biography ‘Steve Jobs’ which the studio acquired following the tech pioneer’s death in 2011, would reunite Fincher with his Oscar-winning ‘The Social Network’ screenwriter Aaron Sorkin and producer Scott Rudin.

Speaking with The Daily Beast back in 2012, Sorkin revealed that his script unfolds in ‘real time’ with three long scenes that follow Jobs backstage at three Apple launches – “the first one being the Mac, the second one being NeXT (after he had left Apple), and the third one being the iPod.”

Mark Gordon and Guymon Casady will co-produce, while Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak will serve as a consultant.
