Fey circling ‘This Is Where I Leave You’ adaptation.
‘30 Rock’ star Tina Fey is said to be in negotiations to star alongside Jason Bateman in Shawn Levy’s ‘This Is Where I Leave You,’ a family dramedy based on the 2009 book of the same name by Jonathan Tropper.
The script, penned by Tropper, centres on Judd Foxman (Bateman), a man who has sit Shiva with his gloriously dysfunctional family following the death of his father. Trapped in the house for seven days, longstanding grudges resurface and secrets are revealed.
According to THR, Fey is in talks to play Bateman’s older sister, “a woman who is married and whose first love now has brain damage.”
Production is slated to kick off in June in New York. It is thought that Fey will segue into the role when she wraps shooting her leading role in Disney’s ‘The Muppets…Again!’
