She's an award-winning Indie director known for her gritty depiction of the young (i.e. Thirteen). But now, director Catherine Hardwicke has taken teen angst to a whole knew level - bringing the massively popular vamp novel "Twilight" to the big screen and setting the record for the largest box office opening by a female director with the film.
With "Twilight" set to hit Irish cinemas Friday, Movies.ie spoke to Hardwicke about casting, budget problems and the now confirmed sequel "New Moon" (to be helmed by Chris Weitz)
