Spielberg Still Directing 1st Tintin

Steven Spielberg still on board to direct first 'Tintin' feature.

Steven Spielberg has debunked rumours that Peter Jackson was moving into the director's chair for the first Tintin movie.

A spokesman for Herge Studios, which holds the rights to the iconic comic strip character, said that Peter Jackson was to direct the first film however the pair insist that Spielberg remains committed to directing the first in the planned trilogy. Peter Jackson remains attached to direct the sequel, though he will still be a producer on the first.

This will be Spielberg's first project since the summer pic ‘Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull'. Written by Doctor Who scribe Stephen Moffat, the first Tintin feature will be based on two of the books, "The Secret of the Unicorn" and "Red Rackham's Treasure".

The films will be animated with motion-capture technology and star 18-year-old Thomas Sangster as Tintin and Andy Serkis as his friend Captain Haddock.

This should give Peter Jackson more time to work on the Hobbit, which can only be a good thing.

I'm so 'meh' about Spielberg right now.  And don't ask me how 'meh' I am about Tintin!

I actually wanna see Lovely Bones, thats about the only Jackson project I'm not 'meh' about.

Also, Spielbergo is a constant meh.

Ah, yes, The Lovely Bones.  A real mixture of the bitter and terrible with the sweet and pure.  I want to read it again.  And The Secret Life of Bees.

I love Tintin! AND Stephen Moffat...
I *think* I heard that this is supposed to be 3d, apparently Senor Spielbergo is very enthusiastic about the future of film being 3d (it's really not).
    But I remain curious!
