"Jericho" producer says movie in the works

According to  the show's executive producter, a  film version of US TV drama "Jericho" is in the works.

Turteltaub told Moviehole that the series would act as a launch pad for a "bigger, full-on American version" surrounding the happenings in Jericho and beyond.

The show, which centres on the US post-nuclear attacks, was cancelled in 2008 after just two seasons due to a decline in ratings.

Stars Skeet Ulrich and Ashley Scott are expected to return to their roles for the feature follow-up, Turteltaub said.

"We're developing a feature for Jericho. It would not require you to have seen the TV show, but it [would] get into life after an event like this on a national scale. It would be the bigger, full-on American version of what's going on beyond the town in Jericho," he said.

Did it air over here or straight to DVD; I saw it in HMV for like 15euro, worth pickin up?

I enjoyed the few episodes I seen, but I know some people who are crazy about it and will be able to breath again knowing there's a movie.

Think it's an aquired taste lol

Dave, think it was on really late on TV3.
Scheduling like that is why I started downloading most of the shows I watch now. Broadcast TV is more or less dead to me.

    TV3 aired it

It had some great ideas but never really joined any dots

It had a good concept but somehow in the execution it never lived up to its potential. Certainly I think the second season suffered from trying to tie up plot threads from season one that were obviously intended as long term ongoing plots.

I loved the show. It shouldn't have been canceled but there you go, just like pushing daisies we get a little bit of something great then it's taken away and its back to square one :(

Thats a great show. Season 1 ended on such a cliffhanger. Cant believe they cancelled it after all the fuss the fans made. This could be good but why the hell were te fans able to bring this back and not the X-files.

I thought it was the game when I read the title... Either way not really pushed!!

I enjoyed the show but I don't think a film would be something I would like to see.  A final few episodes to wrap it all up would be nice.

I bought the DVD boxset and couldn't get into it, what a bore, please dont make a movie.
