Breathnach filming in Belfast

Shrooms director returns to filming.

Director Paddy Breathnach has started filming his new movie in Belfast. The cult director has previously directed  the classic 'I Went Down' alongside 'Man About Dog' and more recently, 'Shrooms'. The film, a supernatural thriller called 'Red Mist', will star Arielle Kebbel ('The Grudge 2') and  Sarah Carter ('Shark'). The film is due to be completed by November.

In a recent interview with Movies.ie, Breathnach revealed that he was planning to film a western completely in the Irish language. He said the film, written by Terry McMahon would be set in Ireland in 1690. It is unknown at this stage if this Irish language project is the one that started filming this week. Breathnach also told us that he is working on a vampire film with a working title of ‘The Counter Cowboy Rides Again’, which he describes as 'a Cronenberg/David Lynch film set in a western landscape'.

I'd have thought Paddy had enough of the horror genre with 'Shrooms' - I can't imagine this is a straight forward horror/supernatural film. I'd be more impressed if it turned out to be the Irish language western, though tho the title would be in Irish, so maybe not?
