Feature Earths Vital List

Gort’s back and to prepare for the release of “The Day the Earth Stood Still”, the latest viral asks – what would you save?

As things heat up for the release of “The Day the Earth Stood Still, those lovely folks over at Fox have sent us a heads up about a cool new interactive viral campaign dedicated to the film.

The social networking application allows you to decide who and what will be saved when the earth “stands still.” “Earth’s Vital List” asks users the question, If the earth was under attack what would you save?  Users are asked to build a “Vital List” of 12 items they would save on “the day the earth stands still.”

Vital lists can be shared with friends encouraging feedback and votes on which items are truly vital. The world’s most vital items will be tabulated on at Earthvitallist.com. The site also provides visitors with a view on how items are being ranked around the globe. A countdown to the film’s release (12/12/08) will coincide with a special reveal of the world’s 1,212 most prized possessions on MySpace.com/earthvitallist.com. To vote, just:

* Log on to the site,
* Review the items people think is worth saving, should the Earth stand still
* Vote for what you think should be saved
* The top1212 items as voted by the world will be saved.

You can then upload a list of your own to share not only with your friends, but with the world. For those who active social networkers it can be shared via friend lists on MySpace, Facebook, Orkut, Friendster, Bebo, Hi 5, and Netlog.

Click here to check it out. Keanu Reeves portrays Klaatu, an alien whose arrival on our planet triggers a global upheaval. “The Day The Earth Stood Still” hits Irish cinemas December 12th.
