Screen star Farrah Fawcett dies aged 62

Actress Farrah Fawcett,has died of cancer in Los Angeles aged 62, her spokesman has confirmed.


“She’s gone,” her longtime partner, Ryan O’Neal said in a statement. “She now belongs to the ages.” Fawcett died at St John’s health centre in Santa Monica, California. O’Neal and her friend Alana Stewart were reportedly at her bedside.


Best known for starring in Charlie’s Angels, and in later years for hard-hitting TV and stage roles, Fawcett had struggled with cancer of the last number of years. .


Her other screen credits include Logan’s Run, Saturn 3, The Cannonball Run and The Apostle. In 1995, she was honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
