Farmiga Set For Ballet Comedy PRIMA

Actress pirouettes to dance comedy…

Vera Farmiga (‘The Conjuring,’ ‘Bates Motel,’ ‘Up in the Air’) has closed a deal to star in the Evan Greenberg-directed indie comedy ‘Prima,’ formerly known as ‘Dance of the Mirlitons.’

An original story that blends the heart of ‘Little Miss Sunshine’ and ‘Billy Elliott’ with the crass comedy of ‘Mean Girls,’ ‘Prima’ centres around Jesse Urchin, a 12-year-old who shocks everyone when she is accepted into the prestigious Battleboro School for Dancers. While Jesse learns that to get to the top, she must kill or be killed, her mother Corinne struggles to acclimate to her posh stomping grounds.

The Allegiance Theater’s Daniel Dubiecki and Lara Alameddine are attached to produce along with Karine Martin under her Mediamax banner.
