FANTASTIC FOUR Reboot Lands X-MEN: FIRST CLASS Scribe

New writer boards reboot…

Heat Vision is reporting that Simon Kinberg (‘X-Men: Days of Future Past,’ ‘Sherlock Holmes,’ ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith’) has landed script writing duties for director Josh Trank’s upcoming reboot of ‘Fantastic Four.’

Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, the Marvel title features a “family” of heroes — scientist Mr. Fantastic; his wife, Invisible Woman; her brother, the Human Torch; and Ben Grimm, aka the Thing.

The reboot has gone through a number of scribes over the years, with Seth Grahame-Smith, Michael Green, Jeremy Slater, and T.S. Knowlin all linked to the project at different times.

According to the trade’s source, Kinberg will be overhauling the script substantially, with production set to start kick off in the first quarter of 2014. The film reunites Kinberg with his ‘X-Men’ co-writer Matthew Vaughn, who is on board to produce.
