FALLEN Adaptation Finds Its Leads

Gothic romance tale casts leads.

Deadline is hearing that Addison Timlin (‘Zero Hour,’ ‘Stand Up Guys,’ ‘Californication’) and English actor Jeremy Irvine (‘The Woman in Black: Angels of Death,’ ‘Now Is Good,’ ‘War Horse’) have been cast as the leads in ‘Fallen,’ a big screen adaptation of Lauren Kate’s four-part bestselling novel series.

A gothic romantic thriller, the story centres on Luce Price (Timlin), a shy teen who is suspected of killing a boy and is sent to the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. There she meets the mysterious and aloof, yet achingly familiar Daniel Grigori (Irvine). He is the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move. Even though Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce–and goes out of his way to make that very clear–she can’t let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, she has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret . . . even if it kills her.

Australian filmmaker Scott Hicks (‘The Lucky One,’ ‘Shine’) is attached to direct with the screenplay coming from Kate and Nicole Millard.

Mark Ciardi and Gordon Gray of Mayhem Pictures will co-produce the adaptation with Bill Johnson and Jim Seibel of Lotus Entertainment.
