In the ‘90s we were ‘Mad About’ Helen Hunt but, since the millennium, everyones favourite American gal has largely vanished from our screens. Now she’s back and proving she can do it all – co-writing, directing, co-producing and starring–in her latest heartfelt dramedy ‘Then She Found Me’.

 

Synopsis: Following the separation from her husband and the death of her adopted mother, schoolteacher April Epner (Hunt) is contacted by her apparent birth mother, who turns out to be a local talk show host Bernice Graves. As Bernice tries to become the mother to April that she was never able to be, April seems to find solace in the arms of the parent of one of her students (Colin Firth), only to find that the mystery to life’s questions cannot be solved by a simple revelation…

(1)Hunt and her “Mad About You” (1992) co-star, Paul Reiser, were both given $1,000,000 per episode salaries for the 1999 TV season.

 

(2)In 1999, she did a guest voice on The Simpsons (1989) in episode: #9.16 Dumbbell Indemnity, as Moe’s girlfriend, Renee. The voice of Moe is Hank Azaria, Helen’s real-life love at that time.


(3)She reportedly got the role in Twister (1996) based on her performance in The Waterdance (1992).


(4)She is the daughter of Gordon Hunt, the American actor, voice actor, and director.


(5)She won the lead in As Good as It Gets (1997) after Holly Hunter turned it down.
