Eva Mendes (‘Last Night,’ ‘The Other Guys’) has joined the cast of Derek Cianfrance’s multi-generational crime drama ‘The Place Beyond The Pines,’ joining Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper. Deadline reports that Greta Gerwig (Arthur,’ ‘Greenberg’) may also join the cast, with the actress currently in negotiations.
‘The Place Beyond The Pines’ tracks the tragic consequences of a showdown between a motorcycle rider-turned-bank robber (Gosling) and a cop-turned-politician (Cooper). Mendes will play the Gosling’s love interest and mother of his child, while would play the Cooper’s wife.
Cianfrance (‘Blue Valentine’) will helm the project from a script he penned with Ben Coccio (‘Zero Day’). Production is set to begin next month.
