Trio plan to write second sequel to beloved romance series.
Talking to AlloCine (via Vulture), Ethan Hawke has revealed that he is set to reunite with co-star Julie Delpy and director Richard Linklater to pen a third film involving their characters from ‘Before Sunrise’ and ‘Before Sunset.’
“Well, I don’t know what we’re going to do but I know the three of us have been talking a lot in the last six months. All of three of us have been having similar feelings that we’re ready to revisit those characters.”
“There’s nine years between the first two movies and, if we made the film next summer, it would be nine years again so we’re really started thinking that would be a good thing to do. We’re going to try write it this year.”
Released in 1995, ‘Before Sunrise’ followed Jesse and Celine, two strangers who meet on a train in Europe, and wind up spending one romantic evening together in Vienna. In 2004’s ‘Before Sunset,’ the would-be lovers encounter one another on the French leg of Jesse’s book tour.
