Ethan Hawke and Emile Hirsch Find TEN THOUSANDS SAINTS

80s coming-of-age tale adds leads…

Variety hears that Ethan Hawke (‘Before Midnight,’ ‘The Purge’) Emile Hirsch (‘Lone Survivor,’ ‘Into The Wild’) are set to join ‘Ender’s Game’ stars Asa Butterfield and Hailee Steinfeld for the film adaptation of Eleanor Henderson’s coming-of-age novel ‘Ten Thousands Saints.’

Set in 1980s York City in the age of CBGB, yuppies and gentrification, the story focuses on Jude (Butterfield), a teen who moves in with his hippie dad in NYC after his best friend Teddy overdoses. There he falls in with the no drugs, no sex, and no meat straightedge hardcore punk scene of the East Village.

Hawke will take the role of Jude’s father.

Bob Pulcini and Shari Berman (‘American Splendor’) are attached to direct, with Trudie Styler and Celine Rattray of Maven Pictures, co-producing alongside Archer Gray’s Anne Carey and Amy Nauiokas, and Luca Borghese.
