Empire Strikes Back director Irvin Kershner RIP 1923 2010

May The Force Be With You.

The man who brought us some of the finest movies ever made passed away today aged 87.

Born in Philadelphia in 1923, Kershner trained as a musician and in photography before starting making documentaries and then feature films.

Strangely, he is most known for his outstanding sequels, making The Empire Strikes Back in 1980 and Robocop 2 in 1990. He also directed Sean Connery as James Bond in ‘the 1983 film Never Say Never Again’.

His last directing job was in 1993 on the Seaquest DSV TV show.

Check out this 2009 interview with the visionary director.
