Emily Blunt Joining Tom Cruise in ALL YOU NEED IS KILL

Actress teaming up with Cruise for Doug Liman-directed sci-fi.

Emily Blunt (‘The Five-Year Engagement,’ ‘Looper,’) has begun talks with Warner Bros. to take the female lead opposite Tom Cruise in the sci-fi actioner ‘All You Need Is Kill.’

The film, based on the graphic novel by Hiroshi Sakurazaka, is a described as “Groundhog Day-meets-Halo” with a story that follows “a soldier who, despite being killed in the first day of an intergalactic alien invasion of Earth, is continually resurrected to fight and die again and again. On the 158th iteration though, he sees something different, something out of place: the female soldier known as the Bitch of War. Is the Bitch the key to the soldier’s escape, or to his final death?”

Doug Liman is on board to direct the adaptation with a screenplay penned by Dante Harper (‘Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters’) and Joby Harold (‘Awake’).

Blunt will next be seen starring alongside Ewan McGregor in the Lasse Hallström-directed ‘Salmon Fishing in the Yemen,’ which opens in Irish cinemas on April 20th.
