Elizabeth Debicki Attached to THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E.

Filming kicks off in September.

Aussie actress Elizabeth Debicki, most recently seen starring alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mulligan in Baz Luhrmann’s ‘The Great Gatsby,’ has secured a supporting role in ‘The Man From U.N.C.L.E,’ according to Variety.

With Guy Ritchie directing, and Henry Cavill (‘Man of Steel’) and Armie Hammer (‘The Lone Ranger’) starring, the big screen adaptation of the 1960s series follows Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin – two agents of the United Network Command for Law and Enforcement who fight against the evil agents of an organization known as THRUSH.

According to the trade, the film is an origin story that tells of the first pairing of the two spies, who, unlike the original series, are initially hostile to each other. Swedish actress Alicia Vikander is attached to play the female lead.

Principal photography on the film is gearing up for a September start in London and Italy with Ritchie directing from a script he co-wrote with his ‘Sherlock Holmes’ writer and producer Lionel Wigram.
