‘Lord of the Rings’ stars boards the supernatural actioner… Elijah Wood (‘The Hobbit,’ ‘Wilfred’) and Michael Caine (‘Interstellar,’ ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’) have become the latest names linked to ‘The Last Witch Hunter,’ director Breck Eisner’s supernatural actioner starring Vin Diesel. Featuring a script by Cory Goodman, the follows a semi-immortal witch hunter (Diesel) wandering the streets of modern New York City who is forced to partner with his natural enemy, a female witch. The two must stop a villainous witch queen from obtaining a relic and unleashing plague upon humanity. As previously reported, Rose Leslie (‘Game of Thrones,’ ‘Downton Abbey’) is on board to play the female lead. ‘Last Witch Hunter’ is produced by Mark Canton, Bernie Goldmann and Diesel. Samantha Vincent of One Race and Adam Goldworm are executive producing, with Lionsgate’s Erik Feig, Summit Entertainment’s Geoff Shaevitz, and Lionsgate’s Matthew Janzen overseeing development.
