Manga series to get live-action feature treatment…
A live-action English-language adaptation of Japanese manga series ‘Soul ReViver’ is in the works with Edward Zwick (‘The Last Samurai,’ ‘Pawn Sacrifice’) behind the camera.
Created by Tohru Fujisawa and Manabu Akishige, the supernatural series centres on former detective Jin Ryuusuke and high school student Sekimachi Kurara, two soul revivers who have the ability to move between the worlds of the living and the dead, in order to bring certain people back whose mission on earth was not complete.
Zwick will write the screenplay alongside Marshall Herskovitz, with the duo’s Bedford Falls producing with Fields Corporation and All Nippon Entertainment Works.
