Just last year we learned that Jameson, the title sponsor of the Dublin International Film Festival since its relaunch in 2003, was finishing their time with the festival this year. Today, the DIFF team announced their new title sponsor; Audi. From 2016, the festival will be known as the Audi Dublin International Film Festival.

Audi have a long history of supporting film and festivals around the world, from the Berlin Film Festival (Berlinale) to the including the British Academy of Film and Television Arts and the Emmy Awards.

Gaby Smyth, Chair of the Festival Board, commented on how Audi was the ideal fit for the Festival: “We were impressed not only by the scale of their ambition, but also their passion for supporting and celebrating culture and their willingness to help in bringing the Festival to ever wider audiences”.

Richard Molloy, Head of Product and Marketing at Audi Ireland, said: “The new partnership between Audi and the Dublin International Film Festival is an exciting coming together of brands that both share a deep appreciation for the craft of film-making. For us in particular, this is a natural extension of our own passion for innovation and creativity. We’re truly delighted to sponsor this internationally renowned film festival and join with the city in celebrating some of the world’s greatest actors and filmmakers.”
