Drug charge for Potter film actor

Jamie Waylett misses Potter premiere after being found with drugs.

Harry Potter movie actor Jamie Waylett, who plays Slytherin bully Vincent Crabbe in the hit films, did not attend the London premiere of Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince last night after press reports that Waylett allegedly grew 10 cannabis plants at his home in North London.

While Waylett’s friends and co-stars braved the rain to greet their their fans at the premiere of the latest Harry Potter movie in Leicester Square, 19-year-old Jamie was told he will have to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on July 16th to answer the charges.

Waylett was stopped in April by police while driving his car, and after discovering cannabis in his possession they later raided his mother’s home in Camden, north London. Waylett will appear in court alongside John Innis, 20, from Barnet, north London, who was charged with possession of 11 bags of cannabis and a knife.

Waylett was revealed by a friend as a recreational drug user in 2007; “Jamie is wild. He told me that he got high at the premiere of the last film, Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire.”
