Lands lead female villain.
THR has revealed that Karen Gillan has become the latest addition to the cast of Marvel’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy,’ joining an ever-expanding cast that already includes Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Lee Pace, Ophelia Lovibond, Michael Rooker, and most recently Glenn Close.
‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ centres on on Pratt’s Peter Quill/Star-Lord, a U.S. pilot who ends up in space in the middle of a universal conflict and goes on the run with futuristic ex-cons who have something everyone want.
Scottish actress Gillan, best known for playing the hugely popular ‘Doctor Who’ companion Amy Pond, will reportedly play the film’s as-yet-unnamed lead female villain.
James Gunn (‘Super,’ ‘Slither’) is behind the camera for the superhero blockbuster with production slated for later this month in London.
