A remake of the 1987 dance sensation Dirty Dancing is in the works.
Writer Julia Dahl (Uptown Girls) has been hired to pen the script for the new movie. The original starred Patrick Swayze as a dance instructor who romances Jennifer Grey’s teen Frances ‘Baby’ Houseman.
The movie was a huge hit on release, earning $213.95 million at the worldwide box office. A sequel to the film was released in 2004.
