Derek Cianfrance

Cianfrance may re-team with Cooper for culinary comedy.

Oscar-nominated ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ star Bradley Cooper and French actor Omar Sy, the breakthrough star of ‘The Intouchables,’ are in talks to take the leads in the comedy ‘Chef,’ reports Variety.

Derek Cianfrance (‘Blue Valentine’) on board to direct from a screenplay by Steven Knight (‘Eastern Promises’), the comedy would see Cooper playing “a disgraced chef who, after losing his Michelin-rated restaurant in Paris, decides to bring his crew back together in an attempt to create the best restaurant ever in London.” It’s familiar ground for Cooper, who previously played a chef in the short lived comedy series ‘Kitchen Confidential.’

‘Chef’ would be Sy’s first role in an English-language film.
