Dean Devlin’s GEOSTORM Lands Jim Sturgess, Abbie Cornish, Ed Harris, and Andy Garcia

Sci-fi adventure adds four….

Heat Vision has learned that Jim Sturgess (‘Kidnapping Freddy Heineken,’ ‘Across The Universe’), Abbie Cornish (‘Robocop,’ ‘Seven Psychopaths’), Ed Harris (‘Westworld,’ Snowpiercer’) and Andy Garcia (‘Kill the Messenger,’ ‘City Island’) are all in negotiations to join the cast of the sci-fi adventure ‘Geostorm.’

Gerard Butler leads the cast, playing “a stubborn but charming satellite designer who, when the world’s climate-controlling satellites malfunction, has to work together with his estranged brother (played by Sturgess) to save the world from a man-made storm of epic proportions. As the designer heads into space, the brother discovers a plot to assassinate the president.”

Cornish would play Sturgess’ girlfriend, a Secret Service agent, with Harris playing the secretary of state with Garcia taking the Oval Office as the president.

The film marks the feature directorial debut of screenwriter/producer Dean Devlin (‘Stargate,’ ‘ Independence Day,’ ‘Godzilla,’ ‘Universal Soldier’).

Production is gearing up for an October start in New Orleans, with Devlin directing from a script he co-wrote with Kieran and Michelle Mulroney.
