David O. Russell to Tackle JFK Drama LEGACY OF SECRECY

Project would reunite Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro.

Showbiz 411 is hearing that ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ director David O. Russell is attached to write and direct the JFK drama ‘Legacy Of Secrecy.’

The film is based on the 2009 book by Lamar Waldron and Thom Hartmann and asserts that Mafia don Carlos Marcello confessed to FBI informant Jack Van Laningham that he was behind the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in Dallas in November 1963.

Leonardo DiCaprio is long attached to play Van Laningham with Russell’s ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ star Robert De Niro being lined up to portray Marcello. DiCaprio‘s Appian Way banner will produce.
