David Lowery’s PETE’S DRAGON Adds Bryce Dallas Howard

Robert Redford in talks for role…

Bryce Dallas Howard, who’ll next be seen starring the highly anticipated ‘Jurassic World,’ has entered into “early talks” to take the female lead in writer/director David Lowery’s ‘Pete’s Dragon.’

Featuring a script by Lowery and Toby Halbrooks, the film is a straight narrative “reinvention” of the 1977 film that revolves around a young orphan and his best friend Elliot, who happens to be magical dragon.

As previously reported, young actor Oakes Fegley (‘This is Where I Leave You’) will take the role of Pete, with Oona Laurence (‘Penny Dreadful’) playing Pete’s friend, Natalie.

Variety adds that Robert Redford (‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier,’ ‘All Is Lost’) is also in talks for a role.
