Katzenberg to helm found footage horror.

Warner Bros. has tapped writer/producer David Katzenberg (‘The Hard Times of RJ Berger’) to make his feature directorial debut with ‘The Waiting,’ a teen horror thriller that will employ a combination of traditional narrative and found footage.

According to Variety, the spec script by newcomers Mark Bianculli and Jeff Richard follows two young filmmakers who decide to create the illusion of a haunting on an unsuspecting neighbour.

Katzenberg will also serve as producer, alongside his KatzSmith Productions partner Seth Grahame-Smith (‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter,’ ‘Pride & Prejudice & Zombies’).
