This is an interesting one…
Deadline has received word that Sony Pictures is in the middle of negotiations with ‘Pineapple Express’ director David Gordon Green to direct a big screen adaptation of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s classic children’s book series ‘Little House on the Prairie.’
Semi-autobiographical, the ‘Little House’ series chronicled Wilder’s difficult but fascinating childhood in pioneering 19th century America. The series was most notably adapted into a long-running and massively popular television show with Melissa Gilbert portraying Wilder.
Green will be directing from a script by Abi Morgan (‘Shame,’ ‘The Iron Lady’), with Scott Rudin producing with Trip Friendly.
