Director Darren Aronofsky has revealed the title for the next Wolverine movie starring Hugh Jackman.
According to Aronofsky, the film will be titled The Wolverine and it will not be a sequel to the Gavin Hood-directed X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
Aronofsky told HitFix that The Wolverine will be a “one-off,” or standalone project.
Scripted by Christopher McQuarrie, the plot involves Logan beginning a forbidden romance with a Japanese woman whose hand in marriage is, unfortunately, promised to another man. Since Logan won’t take “no” for an answer, it puts him into battle with her father and her samurai-sword-wielding brothers.
