‘Requiem For A Dream’ filmmaker to direct Robocop?
Darren Aronofsky has been in discussion with MGM to helm the studio’s Robocop remake.
The ‘Requiem For A Dream’ helmer is reportedly in line to direct a new version of Paul Verhoeven’s 1987 sci-fi hit.
The original revolved around a fatally-wounded police officer who becomes a (bad-ass) cyborg crime fighter.
MGM has also hired Dan Bradley, a second unit director on the latest Bond film, to guide its remake of Red Dawn. Carl Ellsworth will pen the screenplay.
EXTRAs: If you watch the original Robocop, the comic book that the robber in the convenience store grabs is Marvel ‘Iron Man’- things have come full circle!
