DAREDEVIL Relaunch Lands Scribe Brad Caleb Kane

David Slade’s ‘Daredevil’ relaunch begins to take shape after landing writer.

‘Fringe’ writer-producer Brad Caleb Kane has been tapped by 20th Century Fox to pen the relaunch of ‘Daredevil.’ Heat Vision reports that the scribe has been asked to use the story arc from Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli’s critically acclaimed ‘Born Again’ run. According to the insiders, Kane is a huge Daredevil fan, and his energy and passion for the material helped him nab the job.

The gritty story was voted the 11th Greatest Marvel of All Time back in 2001 and starts off with Matt Murdock’s secretary, Karen Page, becoming a heroin addict and porn star. Unable to take control of her life, she spirals deeper and deeper into an existence of hunger. In exchange for a shot of heroin, Page sells Murdock’s secret identity. The information eventually reaches Daredevil’s nemesis the Kingpin, who begins to systematically destroy his life.

‘30 Days of Night’ and ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ director David Slade is set to helm the relaunch, and while the movie will be a continuation of the ‘Daredevil’ story it will not feature material from the 2003 movie.
