Darcy-Smith Takes Indie Thriller BY WAY OF HELENA

Black List thriller finds helmer.

Australian director Kieran Darcy-Smith (‘Wish You Were Here’) has been tapped to direct the violent indie thriller ‘By Way of Helena,’ says Variety.

Scripted by Matt Cook and appearing on the 2009 Black List, the story is set at the turn of the century in Helena, Texas and follows a Texas Ranger and his Mexican wife who are sent to investigate a mysterious frontier town where multiple Mexican bodies keep washing up on the riverbank. What they discover is an idyllic community where everything is not as it seems.

David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman of Mandeville Films are producing.
