Danny McBride to Write & Star in CLOWN

English-language remake of 2010 comedy.

Warner Bros has tapped Danny McBride (‘Eastbound & Down,’ ‘Your Highness’) to write and star in ‘Clown,’ a big screen remake of the hit Danish film and television series ‘Klovn.’

According to Deadline, the remake will follow the basic premise of the Mikkel Nørgaard-directed film starring Casper Christensen and Frank Hvam.

Two friends plan a canoeing trip deemed “Tour de Pussy” in which they plan to party hard and have as much sex as possible. When one of the men discovers his girlfriend is pregnant and wants to get rid of the baby, he sets out to prove he’ll be a worthy father by taking her 13-year old son on the canoe trip.

McBride will also serve as producer, teaming up with Todd Phillips (‘The Hangover’) and his Green Hat Films. The two previously worked together on ‘Due Date.’
