Actor lines up his next directorial effort.
Variety reports that Danny DeVito (‘The Lorax,’ ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’) has signed on to take the director’s chair for the indie comedy ‘Honeymoon With Dad’ for Tapestry Films and Reel FX Creative Studios.
Scripted by Scott Atkinson and Tegan West, the comedy follows young account who “is dumped at the altar and forced to spend what would have been his honeymoon with his estranged, larger-than-life father.”
No word on whether DeVito will be taking a starring role in the comedy. DeVito is expected to work on the film next year while he is on hiatus from ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.’
Tapestry Films’ Michael Schreiber and Peter Abrams will produce with Cary Granat and Jared Mass producing for Reel FX.
