Danny Boyles Frankenstein gets more Dublin performances

Special live screening of Danny Boyle’s new play will show at the IFI and now at the Ormonde in Stillorgan

Danny Boyle’s is returning to the horror genre again with Frankenstein, a series of live performances from the National Theatre London broadcast onto cinema screens around the world.

We originally posted dates of a performance of Frankenstein on March 17th at the Irish Film Institute but now due to demand an extra performance has been added. The special event will now be screened at the ORMONDE CINEMA in Stillorgan on March 19th at 7pm. Tickets can be booked here.

The Oscar winner director, who recently brought us 127 Hours and Slumdog Millionaire returns to the theatre to direct this visionary new production, based on the classic novel by Mary Shelley. Childlike in his innocence but grotesque in form, Frankenstein’s bewildered creature is cast out into a hostile universe by his horror-struck maker (Benedict Cumberbatch). Meeting with cruelty wherever he goes, the friendless Creature (played by Jonny Lee Miller), increasingly desperate and vengeful, determines to track down his creator and strike a terrifying deal.

The addition of Jonny Lee Miller and an exclusive brand new soundtrack from Underworld, makes this a three-way Trainspotting reunion).
