Hoffman and two more board the Daniel Espinosa-directed thriller.

Philip Seymour Hoffman (‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,’ ‘The Master’), Paddy Considine (‘The World’s End,’ ‘Dead Man’s Shoes’) and Swedish actor Fares Fares (‘Zero Dark Thirty,’ ‘Safe House’) are all set to join Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace, Gary Oldman and Joel Kinnaman for the Soviet-era thriller ‘Child 44.’

Based on the 2008 novel by British author Tom Rob Smith, the thriller is set in the 1950s and follows Hardy’s Leo Demidov, an officer in the secret police who finds himself demoted and exiled while investigating a series of child murders.

Principal photography on the film is underway in Prague with ‘Safe House’ helmer Daniel Espinosa behind the camera directing from a screenplay by Richard Price (‘The Wire,’ ‘Ransom,’ ‘Clockers’).
