David Cronenberg’s classic 1983 pic Videodrome is set to be remade.
The original film starred James Woods as a TV executive who programmes a series depicting torture and murder.
Daniel Bobker and Ehren Kruger will serve as both writers and producers, according to Variety.
The remake will be a large-scale sci-fi action thriller, updated to include the possibilities of nano-technology.
It is not yet known whether Cronenberg will be involved in the film.
