Adaptation of Kim Barker’s memoir finds its directors…

Filmmakers John Requa and Glenn Ficarra, who recently wrapped on the Will Smith-led ‘Focus,’ are set to direct Tina Fey in the darkly comic tale ‘The Taliban Shuffle,’ says TheWrap.

Adapted from Kim Barker’s memoir of the same name, the film recounts the journalist’s years as a correspondents in Kabul, trying to do the “Taliban Shuffle” between the conflict zones of Afghanistan and Pakistan. Delving deeper into Pakistan and Afghanistan, Barker found her love for the hapless countries grow, along with her fear for their future stability.

Requa and Ficarra (‘Crazy, Stupid, Love,’ ‘I Love You Philip Morris’) will be directing from a script by Robert Carlock (‘30 Rock,’ ‘Saturday Night Live,’ ‘Friends’). Fey and Lorne Michaels (‘Saturday Night Live’) will produce.
